Working on the internet is fun, but sometimes you really need to have some old-fashioned fun: games, movies and the likes.
In the last days, I actually had some real fun: I had seen Shrek 3 and I have played some Wii.
Shrek 3 is a movie to see if you are a fan. Maybe not as good as the first one or the second one, but still a lot of fun to watch. The cat (Puss’n’Boots) and the donkey are perfect sidekicks (even switched 😀 ) and I really had an enjoyable three hours in the last several days (yeah, yeah, I did watch it twice, so? ).
Now, the Nintendo Wii. I have tested it recently at CERF, Romanian Computers Fair, and had 10 minutes of great fun kicking one of my friends at boxing (OK, I got beaten, but it doesn’t really matter). On Monday, I got my Wii to test it around. It came with 50 or so games (all the big titles on gamespot), so I thought to myself: I will not sleep this night, apparently. When my cousin called me to say that he just woke up (it was 11:00 at night 😀 ), I had the partner to test the games.
Well, it took us 1 hour to set the Wii and the remotes (of course, RTFM is not for us), but we finally got to start playing.
Before continuing, I have to tell you I usually do not play games (neither on computer or console), but even when I do, I hate consoles. I do not get along with them (too much of a learning curve) and as such, I prefer playing games on the PC.
Back to playing Nintendo Wii: we had 50 games that were set to be played as an usual console, no multplayer allowed for most of them so… where was the Wii novelty: the natural movement? Apparently, I did not have the Sports pack.
Finally, we have found 2007 Tiger Woods and played 18 holes (19 with overtime), in 2-3 hours. Nice swinging around in the middle of my house, hitting the small ball to the green, making puts and bogies and birdies and… whatever…
Conclusions? Shrek is great, in order to really appreciate Wii you need the sports (Boxing, Bowling and tenis), because otherwise is just another console and from time to time you really need to have fun. Even if you can’t open your eyes the next morning 😀
Blegoo
Well, Bobby…just who do you think would be the audience for this post? Do you really believe you are sharing wisdom here? My son can run circles around you…it took him about 3 minutes to set up the gizmo and start playing. C’mon…get serious.
