Subway networks around the world
Yesterday I had to go to two “meetings” (I went to a Christmas Party at Sopolec and a meeting with guys from JCI to talk a bout a project later on) during the Rush Hour (those who visited Bucharest should know that during Rush Hour you will move 100 meters in 30 minutes) so I decided to take the subway. What I forgot was that I am very very tired (both physically, but especially mentally, to quote someone) so, for the first time in my 12 years of living in Bucharest, I took the train in the wrong direction. Not only that, but when I finally got out and took the correct train, I forgot to get out at my destination. Really, what is with this year? Everybody I know is totally tired, I feel like I am floating from day to day.
So, in order to celebrate my little adventure, I made a list with subway networks so complicated that make me wonder: if I managed to get lost in a network so small (like Bucharest’s), what will happen to me in London or New York???

NY city is SO simple, you wouldnt believe….just few colours, and thats it for subways. Easy.
Also, information, booklets, whatever you MIGHT need is spreaded all around. Thats what I call driving aroun the costumer – yoi actually FEEL safe.
Of course, if you get out on wrong station, thats not because you didnt have all possible info ;)
Besides, everything is so flat in NY.

There are usually plenty of grown ups riding the subways you could ask for directions. It is also a good idea to pin a note to your chest with your home address. :)

@Jelena: for the moment, I have to believe you. Anyway, from the maps there, I wouldn’t be too sure.
@Steve: it always makes me warm inside when I see my friends caring so much for me. But the home address pinned to my jacket is a good idea. Wouldn’t it be better, though, to pin my sister’s phone number? :P
